MP Erin O’Toole Invites Durham Constituents To Sign Book of Condolence for Family of the Hon. Jim Flaherty at Constituency Office

April 15, 2014 – Bowmanville – Local Member of Parliament Erin O’Toole announced that a book of condolence for the family of the late Honourable Jim Flaherty is available for constituents of Durham to sign at the Bowmanville constituency office.

MP Erin O’Toole, a long-time family friend of Flaherty’s, said he will remember Flaherty most for his “passion and his Irish grit.”

“Despite how busy and how stressful his job was, he always found time for friends, colleagues and family regardless of what side of the House of Commons they were sitting” says MP O’Toole. “Jim was a champion for the Durham Region. It would be fitting if the constituents of Durham showed our appreciation for the legacy that Jim leaves behind for Canadians, by signing the book of condolence for the Flaherty family.”

A book will be available at the main constituency office at 54 King Street East in Bowmanville from Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 5:00pm, until the end of April. MP O’Toole will present the book to Mr. Flaherty’s wife, Christine Elliott (MPP Whitby-Oshawa) and their three sons later this spring.
